IGF-1 LR3
Scientific Profile
IGF-1 LR3 is a modified form of insulin-like growth factor-1 with 13 additional amino acids at the N-terminus and substitution of arginine for glutamic acid at position 3. These modifications confer resistance to IGF-binding proteins, significantly extending its half-life in biological systems.
In vitro studies demonstrate enhanced receptor binding affinity and mitogenic properties compared to native IGF-1. Animal models show prolonged activation of the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway due to its reduced protein binding.
